David Bridges
David was born and raised in Baton Rouge. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a B.S. in accounting in 1985. After two years, he graduated from Baylor Law School in 1987, having completed Baylor Law’s renowned Practice Court program.
David is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He served as the editor of the Family Law Section Report of the Mississippi Bar, as the chair of the Mississippi Bar Family Law Section in 2010–2011 and again in 2020–2021, and he served for many years on its Executive Committee. David has organized the Section’s annual seminar for Family Law attorneys since 2011. He is a frequent lecturer to attorneys and judges on family law topics.
David is married to Bonnie Bridgers Smith, and in his spare time he is an untalented oil painter.
